Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 29 A of Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, no 117 of 1998 (Act 117 of 1998) that the Special Council meeting of the Bitou Municipality is scheduled for Friday, 30 August 2024 at 09h00 in the Bitou Council Chambers. 

On Wednesday Bitou Municipality political leadership held an engagement session for the Expanded Public Works Programme Employees (EPWP). 

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting held on the 30th of August 2024, the Council of Bitou Municipality passed a resolution in respect of the adoption of an Adjustment Budget on the 2024/2025 budget, compiled in terms of section 28 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003.

Bitou Municipality is committed to working with all relevant stakeholders to address safety concerns at the airport so that flight landings can resume as soon as possible. These concerns led the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) to suspend the airport's license in July 2024, thus preventing flights from landing.

To mark the commencement of Arbor Month, Bitou Municipality in collaboration with Beacon Island Hotel initiated a tree-planting event at Kranshoek Primary and Plett Primary Schools yesterday, 3 September.

Bitou Municipality herewith invites all interested Organizations who wish to be part of Bitou’s Local Economic Development representative forum. To qualify please complete an application form available at the Local Economic Development Forum at Office no 33, Melville’s Corner, Plettenberg Bay, 6600 on/before 16 September 2024. 

The forum will fulfill the following functions: 

• Support the Municipality with updating and implementation of the LED Strategy 

• Meet the challenges of economic development in Bitou and the region.

The public is hereby invited to submit comments concerning the Sports Facilities Master Plan, as per Bitou Council Resolution C/4/199/06/24, which approves the master plan subject to a public participation process.
