NOTICE OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, 14 OCTOBER 2024, AT 09H00 IN THE BITOU MUNICIPALITY’S COUNCIL CHAMBERS, IN SEWELL STREETBITOU MUNICIPALITY (WC047)

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 29A of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, No. 117 of 1998 (Act 117 of 1998) that a Special Council meeting of the Bitou Municipality is scheduled for Monday, 14 October 2024 at 09:00 in the Bitou Council Chambers.

Applications for Beach Umbrella Trading for the period 1 December 2024 to 30 April 2025 are invited by the Bitou Local Municipality, for scheduled sites along the coastal areas. 

Please open the attached advert for beach/area and number of traders for each beach.

 Important notice

 • Bitou Municipal Seasonal Beach Umbrella Project is a seasonal job creation initiative for unemployed people.   

 • The Municipality does not charge any rental/trading fee as it is a temporary job creation initiative  

Notice: Is hereby given in terms of Section 28(3) of the Municipal Systems Act (Act No. 32 of 2000) prescribes that the Municipality must inform communities about the particulars of the process it intends to follow in drafting the Integrated Development Plan. 

On Friday 30/08/2024 Council adopted the 2024/2025 IDP Process Plan and Budget Time Schedule. The council resolution give effect to sections 28, 34 of the Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2002 and section 21 (b) of the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003. 

Council embarked on a revenue enhancement initiative to ensure that the various service charges, as set out in Council’s approved tariffs and charges schedule, are correctly levied to all categories of users in accordance with the relevant policies, by-laws, and legislation. 

The revenue enhancement initiative will see to it that all categories of properties are treated equally and fairly by ensuring that Council’s approved tariffs for the respective financial years are correctly applied. 

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting held on the 30th of August 2024, the Council of Bitou Municipality passed a resolution in respect of the adoption of an Adjustment Budget on the 2024/2025 budget, compiled in terms of section 28 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003. 

Bitou Municipality herewith invites traders to apply for Informal Trading permits for the period 1 November 2024 to 30 April 2025, for scheduled sites along the coastal areas.

NOTICE OF THE CONTINUATION OF THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF 19 AUGUST 2024. THE MEETING WILL BE ON MONDAY 26 AUGUST 2024 AT 07:30.

Notice is hereby given to the public of the closure of all beaches on 02 August 2024 as Bitou Lifeguards and beach staff will be attending a Wildlife Safety Seminar. 

This includes all beaches manned by Bitou Lifeguards and Staff. 

The beaches will be closed from 09:00 until 13:00.
