IN RESPECT OF THE VALUATION ROLL INFORMATION REFERRED TO IN PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 25/2025 ISSUED ON 07 FEBRUARY 2025 RELATING TO THE ADVERTISING OF THE GENERAL VALUATION ROLL FOR THE PERIOD 01 JULY 2025 TO 30 JUNE 2029, AND THE CALLING FOR INSPECTION OF THE GENERAL VALUATION ROLL AND LODGING OF OBJECTIONS

Council embarked on a revenue enhancement initiative to ensure that the various service charges, as set out in Council’s approved tariffs and charges schedule, are correctly levied to all categories of users in accordance with the relevant policies, by-laws, and legislation. 

The revenue enhancement initiative will see to it that all categories of properties are treated equally and fairly by ensuring that Council’s approved tariffs for the respective financial years are correctly applied.

Notice is hereby given in terms of section 14(1) and (2) of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act, 2004; that at its meeting of 24 May 2024, the Council resolved by way of council resolution number C/2/210/05/24, to levy the rates on property reflected in the schedule below with effect from 1 July 2024.

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 49(1)(a)(i) and Section 78(5) of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act, 2004 (Act No.6 of 2004), hereinafter referred to as the “Act” that the third Supplementary Valuation Roll for the 2021/2025 financial year is open for public inspection at the various municipal offices and libraries within the municipal boundaries and in addition at: www.bitou.gov.za from 14 June 2024 to 14 July 2024.

In terms of the Municipal Supply Chain Management Regulations 14(1) (ii), a municipality must annually invite prospective providers of goods or services to apply for evaluation and listing as accredited prospective providers. The National Treasury has accordingly created a registration and vetting platform for this purpose, the Central Supplier Database (CSD), and all suppliers who intend doing business with the Bitou Municipality, must be registered on the CSD.

● Fieldworkers will be issued with capturing devices to collect and/or verify owner/occupant, property, and infrastructure details at properties in the different suburbs and towns in the Bitou Municipal area 

● Fieldworkers are expected to capture accurate information during a door-to-door survey to properties.
