Bitou is proud of the elderly who represented the Municipality at the District Golden Games at the weekend.
Since the Golden Games were introduced and initiated in 2019 the Municipality has hosted the games in conjunction with the Department of Sports Arts and Culture for the local elderly people.
PUBLIC NOTICE | Temporary Use of Blue Bags for Recycling
The Bitou Municipality is currently unable to provide yellow recycling bags. Our current supplier is unable to provide these bags used for the disposal of recyclable waste.
As an interim measure, the municipality will use blue bags for recycling until yellow bags can be supplied.
Please note that the blue bags will not replace yellow recycling bags and is only an interim measure.

The Bitou Municipality Council has resolved to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Plett Shark Spotters Non-Profit Organisation – a move that will see holidaymakers feel safer in Bitou’s Blue Flag beaches.
The council resolved this week to contribute an amount of R800 000 towards the employment costs of the 14 Plett Shark Spotters on an annual basis for a period of 3 years.

IN PICS | Bitou ramps up efforts to end illegal sale of municipal infrastructure
Bitou Municipality has ramped up efforts to end the illegal sale of scrap metals especially municipal infrastructure.
On Tuesday Law Enforcement officials, with SAPS and Plettenberg Bay ADT embarked on an intelligence-driven blitz at scrap yards in town.
Four scrapyards were visited today in Kranshoek, Crags and two in Bossesgieff on the hunt for illegal goods.
Two illegal scrapyards in Crags and Kranshoek were issued with a notice of compliance certificates by the SAPS.

Bitou Municipality and Seda (Small Enterprise Development Agency) hereby invites SMMEs to apply for the Bitou Pop -Up Market.
The Pop-Up market is for SMMEs that are in retail, manufacturing of goods and service industry and is a great marketing opportunity for them. The Pop-Up Market is scheduled for the 30th of November to the 2nd of December 2023 at the Market Square Mall.
