AUGUST 2024, AT 10H00 IN THE BITOU MUNICIPALITY’S COUNCIL CHAMBERS, IN SEWELL STREETBITOU MUNICIPALITY (WC047) 

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 29 A of Local Government: Municipal Structures 
Act, No 117 of 1998 (Act 117 of 1998) that the Special Council meeting of the Bitou 
Municipality is scheduled for Tuesday, 19 August at 10h00 in the Bitou Council Chambers. 

Seda invites applications from qualifying SMMEs to apply for the GITEX GLOBAL TECH 2024 Trade Exhibition commencing from the 14 th to the 18th of October 2024 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

 BACKGROUND OF THE EVENT 

GITEX Global, originally known as the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, is an annual technology trade show and conference held in Dubai, UAE. The event, which started in 1981, has grown to become one of the world's largest and most influential tech expos. 

The Wholesale &  Retail  SETA is funding SMMEs who want to provide training and development for their staff as well as individual SMMEs who want to participate in training and development.

Method of Application: 

• All applications must be made online through the W&RSETA Management Information System (MIS) using an SDL number to access the system. 

• Stakeholders must consult the relevant provincial office (where applicant is based) for assistance with access to the system where needed. 

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 29 A of Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, No 117 of 1998 (Act 117 of 1998) that the Special Council meeting of the Bitou Municipality is scheduled for Friday, 23 August 2024 at 09h00 in the Bitou Council Chambers.

Christmas arrived early for Mr Khedamile Windvoel and Mrs Nomvula Windvoel, an elderly couple from KwaNokuthula, who recently received a new home after losing their previous one to a devastating fire at 70 Sajini Street. The fire destroyed their house leaving them without a permanent home for years.

Council embarked on a revenue enhancement initiative to ensure that the various service charges, as set out in Council’s approved tariffs and charges schedule, are correctly levied to all categories of users in accordance with the relevant policies, by-laws, and legislation.

The revenue enhancement initiative will see to it that all categories of properties are treated equally and fairly by ensuring that Council’s approved tariffs for the respective financial years are correctly applied.

Minister of Mobility Isaac Sileku visited Bitou yesterday, 26 August 2024, to meet with the Joint Working Committee for Public Transport (JWC).

On Monday 26 August 2024, Bitou Municipality held a successful engagement with entrepreneurs of the Bitou municipal area, in line with the Garden Route Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2024 outreach program. 

This program aims to promote and disseminate the details and objectives of the Garden Route GEW 2024 to local municipalities, local business chambers, and key stakeholders (business chambers, tourism, agriculture, and black business chambers).
