Please note that Bitou Municipality has postponed the planned power interruption for Sunday 25 February to the 24th of March 2024. 

Areas that will be impacted by the power outage are: Plettenberg Bay South: Robberg, Beachy Head, Longships, River Club, Beacon Island, Central Beach, Bull street, Hobie beach, Odlands, Crows Nest, Harker Street and surrounds, EXCLUDING Eskom customers at Robberg. 

The purpose of the planned interruption is to do essential maintenance work on Bitou’s electrical transmission network.

Council embarked on a revenue enhancement initiative to ensure that the various service charges, as set out in Council’s approved tariffs and charges schedule, are correctly levied to all categories of users in accordance with the relevant policies, by-laws, and legislation.

The revenue enhancement initiative will see to it that all categories of properties are treated equally and fairly by ensuring that Council’s approved tariffs for the respective financial years are correctly applied.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting held on the 28th of February 2024, the Council of Bitou Municipality passed a resolution in respect of the adoption of an Adjustment Budget on the 2023/2024 budget, compiled in terms of section 28 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003.

The SOP describes how residents are to identify, report and respond to Baboon activity/invasions in human-wildlife conflict areas.

Bitou Local Municipality supports the use of alternative energy sources, like solar PV. 

To connect, potential installers of alternative energy sources must make an application and receive permission to connect before proceeding with the installation.
