PUBLIC NOTICE | Planned Power Interruption

Please note that Bitou Municipality has postponed the planned power interruption for Sunday 25 February to the 24th of March 2024. 

Areas that will be impacted by the power outage are: Plettenberg Bay South: Robberg, Beachy Head, Longships, River Club, Beacon Island, Central Beach, Bull street, Hobie beach, Odlands, Crows Nest, Harker Street and surrounds, EXCLUDING Eskom customers at Robberg. 

The purpose of the planned interruption is to do essential maintenance work on Bitou’s electrical transmission network.

PUBLIC NOTICE | Bitou raising external loan funding for capital programs

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 46(3) of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003), read with Section 21A of the Municipal Systems Act, (Act 32 of 2000) that Bitou Municipality intends raising external loan funding in partial funding of its 2023/2024 capital program.

 

 The information statement in respect to long-term debt proposal is available for scrutiny at the municipal offices at shop 68 Melville’s corner shopping centre, and on the municipal website: www.bitou.gov.za. 

PUBLIC NOTICE | SOP Baboon Invasions 2024

Bitou Municipality has established a useful standard operating procedure for Baboon invasions.

The SOP describes how residents are to identify, report and respond to Baboon activity/invasions in human-wildlife conflict areas.

PUBLIC NOTICE | Closure of the Municipality for the Easter Weekend

Notice is hereby given that all Bitou Municipal Offices will officially be closing at 13h30 on Thursday, 28 March 2024and will effectively re-open on Tuesday, 02 April 2024 at 07h30.

The following Directorates and/or Sections will not be completely closed, but will have skeleton staff during the aforementioned period of closure;
