Council has embarked on a revenue enhancement initiative to ensure that the various service charges, as set out
in Council’s approved tariffs and charges schedule, are correctly levied to all categories of users in accordance with the relevant policies, by-laws, and legislation.

The revenue enhancement initiative will see to it that all categories of properties are treated equally and fairly by ensuring that Council’s approved tariffs for the respective financial years are correctly applied.

Bitou Municipality will be implementing measures to reduce the food source available to baboons that are causing problems in the Plett South area.  This will cover the area from the intersection of Robberg/Lismore roads to Piesang Valley road and will reach as far as Daedalus Reef Drive on the seaward side.

Organizations and or bodies who qualify for financial assistance in terms of the criteria and prescriptions contained in Bitou Municipality’s Grant-in-Aid Policy and Section 67 of the Municipal Financial Management Act 2003, are hereby invited to submit proposals for programs they endeavor to undertake during calendar year 2024.

Applicants with a workable business concept may apply for the programme, which aims to provide support to youth owned small businesses by means of non-financial support such as equipment.

Notice is hereby given in terms of section 14(1) and (2) of the Local Government: Municipal Property Rates Act, 2004; that at its meeting of 24 May 2024, the Council resolved by way of council resolution number C/2/210/05/24, to levy the rates on property reflected in the schedule below with effect from 1 July 2024. 

Farmers from Kwa-Nokuthula in Plettenberg Bay are hereby invited to attend the Animal Health Information Day spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development.
