We attend to traffic control, registration of motor vehicles, traffic fines, warrants, road safety and traffic signs.
Your motor vehicle needs to be registered and licensed to comply with national legislation. If you live within the boundaries of Bitou, you can do so at Motor Vehicle Registration Office in Anchor Cres, Plettenberg Bay, 6600.
There are over a million vehicles currently registered on the Electronic National Traffic Information System (eNatis) (ITP, 2009), which is the official register for all vehicle, driving licence, contravention and accident data.

The Bitou Traffic Services Section, resorting under the Community Services Department has reached yet another milestone. Traffic Chief, Mr Sean Ganga and his team officially opened their doors to 19 hopeful students who wrote their Learners Tests for respective codes, on Wednesday 01 February 2017.
Traffic Services
The Traffic Department is responsible for traffic Law Enforcement and the Administration thereof. This function also ensures the technical sustainability of Road Traffic Signs and Markings throughout the Municipal Area.
Fire and Rescue Services
Bitou Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for two primary functions strategic objective to we provide emergency response for a myriad of calls, mostly fire suppression and technical rescue; and to provide locally mandated fire prevention services which includes, fire safety inspections, fire code enforcement along with public education and awareness.
Law Enforcement
The Law Enforcement Section is responsible for Law Enforcement, VIP Protection and Security Services. Municipal Law Enforcement mandated by Government Gazette 23868 of 26 September 2002, to address short falls and hardships experienced by Municipalities in South Africa relating by-law empowerment, Business Act 1991 (Act 71 of 1991), Occupational Health and Safety and land use planning. The Fire Brigade Act, 1987 etc.
