On Freedom Day, 27 April 2023, the Speaker of the Bitou Council, Cllr. Claude Terblanche heeded a call from a lady who was recently in an accident which left her disabled.

As a result of this, the lady found it hard to move in and out of her house as it was not wheelchair friendly. Speaker Claude Terblanche was made aware of this unpleasant situation.

He heeded the call and mobilized his own resources and approached Robberg Quarry for ready mix and they generously obliged. New Horizon Development Agency supported with the much needed labour. Williams Builders supported with machinery and equipment.

The Speaker thanked all those that contributed so generously in making the life of this woman much better. "We are focussed on mobalizing each and everyone to be the best together," the Speaker concluded.
