Yesterday, 29 March 2023, the Bitou Executive Mayor Dave Swart accompanied by the Councillor for Ward 4, Cllr. Claude Terblanche, handed over title deeds to property owners in New Horizon.

Most of those that received their title deeds have been beneficiaries of projects that were implemented even before 1994.

The Executive Mayor Dave Swart and Cllr. Terblanche, who is also the Speaker of the Bitou Council, experienced the raw emotions from residents, some of whom have waited for over 30 years, to finally receive this important document that officially declared them property owners.

Both the Executive Mayor and Speaker expressed their joy at being able to deliver the title deeds to the beneficiaries but also expressed their sadness at the fact that people had to wait so long for such an important document.
