Bitou Executive Mayor, Councillor Jessica Kamkam, extends her best wishes to Team Bitou Firefighters as they compete in this year's Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) competition in Mossel Bay.
Representing the scenic town, Bitou's team will feature a mix of seasoned veterans and fresh talent at the 9th edition of South Africa's premier firefighting challenge.
Twelve firefighters from Bitou will showcase their skills, dedication, and teamwork, aiming to enhance service delivery through improved fitness and strength.
Mayor Kamkam expressed her pride, saying: “It’s inspiring to see young people, especially women, stepping up to be part of such a competition. Their passion for firefighting is clear, and the experience they gain will undoubtedly benefit our community."
“I wish Team Bitou the very best. I know they will give their all. Beyond the competition, I hope they also form lasting connections,” she added.
Mayor Kamkam also encouraged residents to attend the event at De Bakke in Mossel Bay and show their support for Team Bitou.
