Bitou Municipality herewith invites Bitou Youth to apply and join the Bitou Junior Town Council.
Council at its ordinary council meeting of 31 August 2022 took a decision in respect of the Bitou Junior 
Town Council, a further amendment of the said resolution was taken at its old meeting on 31 October. 
The resolution gives learners between the age of 16 and 18 years, or in Grades 10 and 11, enrolled in one of 
the Town’s five high schools or homeschooling in and around Bitou the right to be part of the Junior Council.
This program aims to increase young people's interest in local government and governance in general.
Applications for 2024 term will close on 9 October at 16h30 and a selection process will then follow.

The Office of the Speaker and the Bitou Communications, Intergovernmental Relations and Public 
Participation Section will collaborate with educators from various schools to manage this process.
