Overview
The Finance Department manages the financial affairs of municipality. The goal is to ensure the efficient and effective management of the financial resources to ensure the financial sustainability of the municipality. It is the custodian of all municipal assets and must ensure the prudent financial management of public funds. The department is responsible for the management of all revenue collected by means of assessment rates; service fees other charges and sundry revenue. The department is responsible for supply chain management, expenditure management as well as the management of the municipal investment and insurance portfolio. The finance department is also responsible for the drafting of the annual budget, the financial statements and all accounting functions and legislatively required reporting.
