QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES: ●Grade 10 (NQF 3) ● Minimum of 1 year relevant experience ● Code EC1 (code 14) license with a valid PrDP.
REQUIREMENTS: ● Physically fit and abled bodied in order to perform manual tasks ● Must speak at least two of the three official languages in the Western Cape (read, write and speak) Required to work in all weather conditions; ● Required to work outside normal working hours, standby, during emergencies and planned overtime ● Must be responsible, honest, reliable and able to work independently.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Assist the immediate superior during the maintenance and repair of plant and vehicles ● Assist with the replacement of worn or damaged motor parts/components ● Check oil levels, electronic components and breaking devices and/ or replacing defective parts ● Checking the operating functionality of safety and warning devices and attending to the replacement thereof● Removing and replacing gaskets, seals, v-belts and bearings and/ or attending to the lubrication of movable parts ● Cleans worksites and attends to the storage and safekeeping of mechanical tools. Driving and /or manoeuvring various vehicles and comply to safety procedures and guidelines (Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993)
