QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ● Diploma in Accounting or Equivalent NQF Level 6) ● 3 Years relevant experience in a finance / revenue services or accounting practice.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS: ● Driver’s license● Computer literacy (MS Office Applications); Proficiency in at least 2 of the 3 official languages of the Western Cape (read, write & speak) ● Good human relations, interpersonal and communication skills ● Ability to give attention to detail ● High level of responsibility and confidentiality ● Analytical skills ● Ability to work under pressure ● Ability to deal with conflict situations● At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity ●Work after normal working hours, during emergencies and planned overtime.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Perform specific procedures associated with recording, processing and reconciliation of water and electricity revenue transactional data● Perform specific processes that will ensure correct and balanced accounting principles of debtor accounts ● Review new service application forms and ensure accuracy of consumer deposits in terms of council approved tariffs ● Review accuracy and completeness pertaining to Masterfile amendments and Council approved legislation when processing new accounts ● Checking and verifying variation reports on meter readings and all other associated tasks relating to this function ● Ensure that monthly consumer accounts are updated ● Maintains registers and access records of meter readings and water and electricity transactional processes, documentation, instructions and correspondence ● Attend to correspondence and enquiries on consumer billings ● Control tasks/activities associated with personnel performance, productivity and discipline● Attends to procedural administrative requirements, record keeping and reporting deadlines associated with the functionality● Keep abreast of developments, emerging trends and relevant applications in the profession.
