Salary: R 105 540.87 – R 137 013.68 (T6 ) + municipal benefits
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES: ●Grade 10 Qualification; ●Code EC1 license with a valid PDP; ● Must have knowledge of general plumbing; ● Must speak at least two of the three official languages in the Western Cape; ● Must be willing to work overtime and on public holidays; ●Must be responsible and able to supervise and control staff and must have ability to work without continued supervision; ●Knowledge of Bitou Municipal area; ●Must be loyal to the team and the employer.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance to the sewer network by clearing blockages, cleaning silt traps and wet wells; ● Supervising using sewer rods, mechanical or hand dredgers and high pressure jet machine to keep sewers running freely; ● Implement the O.H.S Act at the work place and ensuring supervised staff abide by this act; ● Ensuring an accurate inventory is kept on all plant, tools and equipment by using tool register; ● Distinguishing between municipal and private chokes by inspecting and informing the property owner accordingly; ● Supervising and assisting with the clearing of municipal chokes by instructing subordinates on various methods and techniques using own knowledge and experience to perform tasks given; ● Writing daily work reports, completing vehicle log sheets and timesheets, detailing work done on the preceding day; ● Completing attendance registers, leave forms and fuel usage on forms; ● Completing requisitions for material or equipment needed on official requisition books.
