Salary: R 89 409.13 – R 116 048.63 (T5) + MUNICIPAL BENEFITS

REQUIREMENTS/QUALFICATIONS: ●Grade12 (Matric) preferably with mathematics and science and English; ● Valid code 8 motor vehicle driver’s license that is unendorsed (preferably code 10); ● Must be physically and mentally fit and healthy due to the nature of the fire fighter duties; ●Good Communication Skills (written and oral) in English and one other language of the three official languages of the Western Cape; ●Good Interpersonal and Conflict Management Skills; ● Clear criminal record; ● Must be disciplined and punctual in reporting for shifts/duty; ● some experience in an Emergency Service will be an added advantage but will not be the only criteria used to qualify as a preferred candidate.

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ●Assist in the rendering of emergency services to save lives, property and the environment; ● Respond with fire crews as to assist as needed at emergency incidents including:

 Fires;

 Motor Vehicle Accidents;

 Medical and Rescue Incidents;

 Hazardous Materials Incidents; and

 Any special service calls

●To assist in the maintenance of fire and rescue vehicles; ●assists in the maintenance of fire and rescue equipment; ●Conduct fire hydrant inspections throughout the greater Bitou area; ●log all inspection and result of hydrant servicing; ●Perform control room duties when and as required; ●Must be willing to work shifts, irregular hours; perform stand-by and work overtime in bad weather conditions; ●perform standby for response every alternate shift and be available at station;
