REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: ●Grade 12 with a valid trade test as artisan (carpenter) in civil/construction industry (NQF level 3 and above); ●2 Years appropriate experience in Civil/construction industry; ●Valid code C1 driver’s license with a valid PDP; ●Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ●Must be able to communicate in at least two of the official provincial languages; ●Required to work in all weather conditions; ●required to work outside normal working hours and during emergencies and planned overtime;
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ●Coordinate sequences associated with construction and monitoring, inspection; standards, procedures, regulations and specifications for storm-water maintenance and repairs, transportation material/equipment and personnel to and from worksites, operating heavy or/and specialised vehicles and oversee building repairs and construction of concrete structures; ● Communicating with Senior Superintendent and establishing details/specifications and requirements for specific and related maintenance works; ●Preparing resources allocation schedules (cost, material and time spread) and priority programs for execution and, conducting briefing sessions with specialist /supervisory personnel and/or contractors, explaining requirements and outcomes; ● Monitoring attendance /conduct and output and addressing deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings/counseling and/or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel; ●Establishing the adequacy and availability of personnel against agreed outcomes and motivating to the immediate superior for additional resources to support the implementation of operational plans; ●Submit reports in writing to the Senior Foreman progress and requirements.
