REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: ●an appropriate qualification in the Built Environment Field (NQF 5 and above) or related field from a recognized FET institution; ● 8 years’ experience in construction of building or engineering projects of which at least 3 Years appropriate experience in Project Management of Construction projects; ● Capable of registration with the SACPCMP as a professional construction project manager; ●Working knowledge of Local Government legislation, supply chain management and project financial administration; ●Good problem solving ability; ●Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, AutoCAD, GIS, etc); ●Visionary Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, supported by leadership capabilities, and the ability to influence other people. ●Driving force, self-motivated and enthusiasm; ●Must have ability to work independently and as part of a team ●Good Communication Skills and ability to build positive relationships. ●Have passion for working with people and be able to work under pressure. ●Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ●Must be able to communicate in at least two of the official provincial languages. Valid driver’s licence.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ●Management of capital and planned building maintenance projects; ● Financial Management and reporting on grant funded projects and own capital projects; ●Manage the implementation of projects according to grant funding requirements; ●Construction project management, monitoring and contract administration; ● Attend all project-related meetings with project teams, community and other stakeholders; Comment on engineering/building designs to Manager Project Facilitation; ●Performance evaluation and monitoring of professional service providers and contractors; ●Comment on service to new developments; ●Drafting of procurement documentation for approval by Manager Project Facilitation; ●Participating in Supply Chain Management processes (BSC, BEC and BAC as appropriate); ●Assist with monitoring and skills development of junior staff; ●Assist the Manager Project Facilitation with the drafting of policies; ● Project Management with regards to project timeframes, assessment of project deliverables, project feedback and project reports.
