REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: ●Relevant Tertiary Qualification; ●3 Years appropriate experience in Local Government Administration; ●Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; ●Good problem solving ability; ●Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc); ●Visionary Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, supported by leadership capabilities, and the ability to influence other people. ●Driving force and enthusiasm; ●Good Communication Skills and ability to build positive relationships. ●Have passion for working with people and be able to work under pressure. ●Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ●Must be able to communicate in at least two of the official provincial languages. ●Effective organizing and management skills

FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ●Enhances the Executive Mayor, Speaker and Mayoral Committee effectiveness by performing tasks/activities associated with managing and coordinating support and requirements (administrative, secretarial and logistical) through the application of laid down procedures; ● Attending to specific office activities associated with preparing and producing of correspondence, sourcing; and making available information pertaining to scheduled activities; ●Attending to arrangements in respect of internal and external political interfaces and facilitating communication at a political level; ●Promote community participation, professionalism and executive image of the Bitou Municipality; ●Compiling and sending mayoral correspondence and official circulars to members of the Mayoral Committee, chairpersons or heads of departments/directorates and other key personnel regarding important arrangements, policies and any amendments or updates that need special attention; ●Co-ordinates and Supports key performance areas of eth functionality and facilitates a liaison service between the community; other spheres of government and the Municipality; ●Ensure the administrative, secretarial and logistical arrangements are efficiently supported, prioritised and co-ordinated, upholding the professionalism and image of the relevant Offices; ● Ensure that the functionality is capable of supporting community and inter-governmental liaison objectives through recognition of immediate priorities and longer term interventions; ●Ensure that information or opinions on relevant matters is communicated through the various mediums and accurately interpreted through the provision of adequate and clear explanation; ●Co-ordinates procedural requirements pertaining to outreach programs and initiatives to ensure executive outreach programs creates the desired impact, encourage communities and stakeholders to participate and benefit from the initiative; Co-ordinates and or provides support in respect of executive/civic events/functions involving the political functionaries to ensure that adequate support is made available and executive events/functions are efficiently planned and coordinated and outcomes accomplishment; ●Co-ordinates and controls tasks/activities associated with controlling personnel performance, productivity and discipline to ensure that human resources needs are identified and attended to, supporting the accomplishment of laid down objectives and compliance with specific standards in terms of productivity and performance.
