IDP Ward Public Participation Meetings
NOTICE NUMBER: 14/2022
Section 17 of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000 states that the municipality must establish mechanisms, processes and procedures for community participation in the affairs of local government.
Section 25 of the Local Government Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, states that each municipal council must within a prescribed period after the start of its elected term adopt a single, inclusive and Strategic Plan for the municipality.
Section 20 (2) of the Local Government Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, states that the municipality should not exclude the public in administering its Integrated Development Plan.

The municipality’s intention is to receive developmental inputs from all resident but this is hampered by COVID-19. Not everyone will be able to attend the contact sessions listed above. We urge those with internet access to join the meeting virtually via the municipal facebook page and teams.
Members of the public can also direct their written inputs to the IDP office by email to thenge@plett.gov.za Cc akomeni@plett.gov.za or hand delivered to room 58 Melville’s Corner before 10 February 2022.
