QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES ● Trade Tested Artisan (Mechanical) ●2 to 3 years relevant experience
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS: ● Valid Code C driver’s License with PrDP ● Computer literate (MS Office Applications) ● Proficiency in at least 2 of the 3 official languages of the Western Cape (read, write and speak) ● Good human relations, interpersonal and communication skills ●High level of responsibility ● Ability to work under pressure ● Must be physically fit and able bodied● Required to work in all weather conditions ●Work outside normal office hours, on standby, during emergencies and planned overtime.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: ●Attends to and control the setup, work in progress and completion of specialised tasks associated with repair and maintenance of petrol/diesel driven vehicles ● Attends to and control tasks / activities of subordinates ● Control activities/ sequences associated with trouble shooting/ fault finding and repairing mechanical breakdowns ● Checking the status of hydraulic driven mechanisms, electronic components and replacing defective parts ● Comply to safety procedures and guidelines (Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993) ●Attends to procedural administrative requirements, record keeping and reporting deadlines ●Driving and testing vehicles to assess operating functionality and safety ●.Keeps abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the profession
